Ticket To Ride: Europe & Bonus Orient Express Promo Pack
In Ticket to Ride: Europe, you and up to 4 friends and family members play competing train companies in late nineteenth century Europe working to create large networks of train routes spanning Edinburgh to Constantinople.
Ticket to Ride: Europe is based on the same elegantly simple gameplay as the original North American Ticket to Ride. On your turn, you will either draw two train cards, claim a route and place train pieces, take a route ticket, or place a train station to allow you to use another player's route. The game is so simple that it can be learned in just 5 minutes and therefore makes it the ideal family game as well as an excellent gateway game for getting new players into the hobby.
Ticket to Ride: Europe is gorgeous to look at as well as fun to play. It features a large playing board depicting Europe at the turn of the twentieth century, watercolour locomotive cards, and train pieces in bold primary colours.
Even though Ticket to Ride: Europe is based on the North American Ticket to Ride, there is no need for you to own or have played that game. Ticket to Ride: Europe is a standalone game in the series and features everything you need to play inside the box. If you do not own a Ticket to Ride game, this is the one to get. It features an enhanced map and gameplay. Tunnels require you to pay extra cards to build on them; ferries require special locomotive cards to cross water; and stations allow you to make use of other players' routes when connecting cities on your route cards. The game also features larger cards and game pieces compared to the original Ticket to Ride.
Points are earned both from placing trains and completing route tickets. You start the game with a small number of route tickets and you must ensure that you link the cities they depict to score points. You can draw additional route tickets as an action, but be warned: all incomplete route tickets will lose you points at the end of the game.
Ticket to Ride: Europe is one of a small handful of evergreen classics we recommend to all gamers. It's a pearl in our games collection and you owe it to yourself to have it in yours. This really ought to be the game that supplants Monopoly when people think about family board games.
Ticket to Ride: Europe provides all the components you will need to play the expansion maps that are also available, making it the ideal starting point for getting into the Ticket to Ride series.
